- Open a PDF document in Adobe Acrobat Pro. Do so by opening the white Adobe Acrobat app with the stylized, red A icon. Then click on File in the menu bar at the top of the screen, click on Open…, select the PDF document you want to reduce in size and click on Open.
- Click Tools at the top of the window.
- Click Edit PDF near the upper-right part of the window. A menu with editing tools will appear along the right side of the PDF document.
- Use the “FORMAT” tools to edit text. Highlight the text you wish to edit and:
- Click the drop-down below “FORMAT” to change the font
- Click the size drop-down to change the text size
- Click the square color switch to change the text color
- Click the “bulleted list” drop-down to create a bulleted list
- Click the “numbered list” drop-down to create a numbered list
- Click an alignment icon to change a paragraph to left, center, right, or fully-justified alignment
- Click the “Line spacing” drop-down to increase or decrease the space between lines of text
- Click the “Paragraph spacing” drop-down to increase or decrease the space between (after) paragraphs
- Click the “Horizontal scaling” drop-down to increase or decrease the width (percentage) of the highlighted characters
- Click the “Character spacing” drop-down to increase or decrease the space between individual text characters
- Not all elements of a PDF may be editable.
- Use the “OBJECTS” tool to edit images and objects. Select the object you wish to edit and:
- Click “Flip vertical” to invert the object up or down along a horizontal axis
- Click “Flip horizontal” to invert the object from one side or another along a vertical axis
- Click “Align objects” drop-down to arrange multiple objects on the page with one another
- Click “Rotate counterclockwise” to rotate the object to the left
- Click “Rotate clockwise” to rotate the object to the right
- Click “Replace image” to insert another image in place of the one you selected
- Click “Arrange objects” to change the object’s page layer in relation to other text and objects
- Not all elements of a PDF may be editable.
- Click File in the menu bar and Save.
