About Tshwane South TVET College (TSC)

Tshwane South TVET College (TSC) is a registered public Technical and Vocational Education and Training College in terms of the Continuous Education Training Act (CET Act No.16 of 2006). TSC is a merger of three former Technical Colleges namely Atteridgeville, Centurion and Pretoria West, as Gazetted in 2001(Notice 7311, Gazette No 240 of December 2001). In 2006, TSC gained its fourth Campus (Odi Campus) from the Orbit TVET College as a result of the rezoning of the Provincial borders.

As a public institution, TSC and her counterparts’ fundamental mandate is to indiscriminately equip South Africa’s young people with vocational and occupationally directed skills at intermediate level of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF), thus contributing to

  • the eradication of inequality; poverty and unemployment of the peoples of South Africa; and
  • the economic growth initiatives of the country.

NATIONAL CERTIFICATE (VOCATIONAL) ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • A year end school report for Grade 9 or Higher
  • An NOF Level 1 qualification
  • An approved bridging programme ot access NQF Level 2
  • RPL assessment to meet requirements

Duration of course: The National Certificate (Vocational) course si aful year programme with seven subjects at each ofthe NQF level so fstudy. Astudent is issued with a certificateon the successful completion of each level of study.

ENGINEERING STUDIES/NATURAL SCIENCE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Entry requirements N1-N3: At least a Grade 9 Certificate with a pass in Mathematics and Physical Science. Additional requirements may apply for the different programmes.

Entry requirements N4-N6: Applicable National N3 Certificate with four subjects or a senior Certificate in an applicable technical discipline.

Duration of course: N1-N6 (Trimester per level)

NATIONAL DIPLOMA ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: N6 + proof of 24 months experience in a relevant practical field after completion of N6, is required to obtaina Diploma.

The folowing programmes wilnot beofered no a FULL-TIME basis a tAtteridgevilleCampus with effect from January 2016:

  • BUSINESSMANAGEMENT N4 (Offered @Atteridgeville Campus) (Part-time, repeaters only)
  • MARKETING MANAGEMENT N4 (Offered @Atteridgeville Campus) (Part-time, repeaters only)

Note: The folowing programmes will not be ofered at Centurion Campus with effect from January:

  • BUSINESS MANAGEMENTN4 (Offered @AtteridgevilleCampus) (Part-time, repeaters only)

UTILITY (GENERAL) COURSES AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Entry requirements Grade 12/NSC with related subjects

  • EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT (NQF Level 4-5)
  • HOSPITALITY (N4-N6)(ODI & Centurion Campuses)
  • NATIONALDIPLOMA: N6 +proofof 18 months experience ni arelevant practical field after completionofN6, is required to obtain a Diploma.

Durationof course: N4-N6 (6 Months per level) & NQF Level 1 ( Year per level)
