The admission criteria have been determined by the School Governing Body (SGB) and are included in the School Admission Policy:

For the application to be processed you will have to supply certified COPIES of the following:

Birth Certificate:

Birth Certificate of learner – A certified copy of an Unabridged Birth Certificate of the learner. If you are not in possession of an unabridged version please submit the abridged version. (Unabridged certificate has mother, father & child’s details on the one certificate.)

Photo:

Recent colour passport size photo of the learner.

Municipal account:

Municipal Account as proof of residence. (not older than 3 months)

ID’s:

ID’s of both the parent/s/guardian/s ID’s & ID of learner if over 16

Valid e-mail address:

Two e-mail addresses if possible

Academic Report:

Copy of the learner’s latest report. Grade 00 to Grade 12.

Residence Permit:

Non-South African citizens must please supply a copy of their valid residence permit.

Transfer Letter:

Proof of transfer (if so claimed)

Important: Please ensure that you apply to a number of other schools.

Please note the following with regards to applications:

As St Andrew’s is a small school (600 learners from Grade 1 to Grade 12, excluding Grade R, 2 classes per grade), the school has a very limited capacity for admission and receives an abundance of applications, far in excess of places available. Applications for grades other than Grade 000 and Gr 00 will only be considered if one of the current learners leaves the school.
It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to submit your applications before the end of July of each year. (In respect of admissions for the following year)
Application Forms will be issued & receipted from 1st June. All applications submitted before the submission dates are considered in terms of the Admission Policy. (In respect of admissions for the following year)
The learner’s application will be placed on a Waiting List.
The Language of Learning and Teaching at St Andrew’s is English. The learner should therefore be able to communicate fluently in English.
St Andrew’s Bloemfontein is a combined school for boys (Pre Primary, Primary & High School) therefore our learners for Grade 1 come from our St Andrew’s Pre Primary. i.e. Our Feeder School is our own school, namely, St Andrew’s Bloemfontein.
The date on the application form is not one of the criteria used for admission.
The application form must be signed by both parents/legal guardians and if the parents are divorced the school must be provided with proof that the custodial parent/guardian has legal rights and can apply to the school for admission on behalf of both parents/guardians. Once the application has been submitted your documents become the property of the school.
Please declare any medical conditions of the learner. This will not affect your application.
Please note you have to re-apply annually.
