Please note: Southern African Wildlife College payment and cancellation policies is as follow:

50% deposit is required in order to confirm a booking. Please note that a reservation is not confirmed or secured until this deposit requirement has been paid in full. The balance of the account must be paid, no later than 21 days prior to arrival.

Cancellation policy:

21 – 7 days prior to arrival – 50% cancellation fees 6 – 0 days prior to arrival – 100% cancellation fees All cancellations must be made in writing.

Scholarships and Bursaries

The Southern African Wildlife College endeavours to help fund students’ course fees and every year there are limited bursaries and scholarships available. As a donor-funded organisation, we rely on the generosity of others to help us provide this financial support and give these students the opportunity to advance.

Students are required to formally apply for bursary support and are further encouraged to seek funding independently from other organisations.

Scholarships Sources

Southern African Wildlife College Trust

Each year the Trust awards top students with highly sought-after scholarships in our accredited Higher Education and Training courses in natural resource management.

Sponsor-A-Student

This campaign, aimed at supporting the 50 Natural Resource Management students who train in our Higher Education and Training and National Certificate courses each year, gives donors from the public the opportunity to sponsor or contribute to a student’s bursary fees.

Donations

Our generous donor community can help to cover a student’s course fees by donating any amount to our Training Bursaries beneficiary account via our donations page.

Who can receive a scholarship?

Top achieving students on the National Certificate in Natural Resource Management are eligible for a limited number of  scholarships awarded each year. New students are required to apply for partial bursary support when filling out their course application forms and are also encouraged to seek alternative funding from their organisations or other financial institutions. Our bursary allocation is as follows:

  • Higher Education and National Certificate Courses: Partial bursaries are available depending on donor support and are aided by the student’s organisation in addition to funding provided via our Sponsor-A-Student campaign.
  • Occupational Qualifications: Bursaries are available depending on donor support.
  • Skills Programmes and Short Courses: Organisations and individuals provide funding for themselves; unless otherwise stated bursaries are not available.
  • Youth Access Environmental Education Bridging Course: bursaries are awarded to successful candidates to cover course fees and include the costs of accommodation, meals, and training at the College.
Who can apply for bursary support?

Any student applying to our flagship Higher Education and Training and National Certificate Courses in Natural Resource Management can apply for partial bursary support. Bursaries are also available to selected students on our Youth Access Bridging Programmes, as well as our Guiding and Field Ranger Training Programmes.

How can I apply for bursary support?

Students are required to fill out the relevant details for financial support on their course application forms. Students are also encouraged to seek funding from their employment organisations or other conservation agencies.
