About the SACPLAN: The South African Council for Planners (SACPLAN) was appointed by the Minister of the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform, as a statutory Council to regulate the Planning Profession. SACPLAN assures quality standards are maintained within the planning profession via the identification of planning profession work for registered planners to undertake.

Field of Study
- South African citizen
- Completed Matric
- Registered or accepted to study at an accredited planning school
- Studying towards a planning qualification (undergraduate and postgraduate)
- High academic achiever
- Proven financial need
SACPLAN Bursary Application Requirements 2025/2026
- ID document (certified copy)
- Matric certificate (certified copy)
- Proof of registration/ acceptance from an accredited planning programme/ school (on tertiary letterhead)
- Current tertiary students: latest academic record/ transcript (on tertiary letterhead) (certified copy)
- Breakdown of costs for the study programme for the year
- 3 months’ latest bank statements from the person currently paying for your studies
- Full CV (of background and working experience)
- Personal statement/ motivational letter (max 2 pages)
- Two written references
