SABMiller, founded in 1895 as South African Breweries, was a multinational brewing and beverage company before being acquired by Miller Brewing in 2002, and thereafter becoming known as SABMiller plc. Then in 2016, SABMiller plc was acquired by the biggest global brewer, Anheuser-Busch InBev.

SAB was the first industrial company to be listed on the JSE (Johannesburg Stock Exchange) and a major bottler of the famous drink, Coca-Cola. Today, AB InBev brands include Miller, Pilsner Urquell and Fosters.

ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

SABMiller learnerships will be awarded for National Certificate in Food and Beverage Packaging (NQF 3) – there will be 6 positions within the Prospecton location, 16 positions within the Krugersdorp location, 3 positions within the Polokwane location and 16 positions within the Alrode location.

Students will enter into a fixed term contract with Prospecton or Chamdor Brewery for 1 year, whereby students will take part in on-site and off-site theoretical learning, and receive their national qualification after completion.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application being disqualified):

Prospecton location:

  • Completed Matric
  • Passed Mathematics and English in Matric
  • Advantageous but not a requirement: completed a technical course (N2/ N3/ N4/ N5/ N6)
  • Self motivated
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to interact well with teammates
  • Able to work effectively within a team

Krugersdorp location:

  • Completed Matric
  • Passed Mathematics and English in Matric
  • Advantageous but not a requirement: passed Science in Matric
  • Advantageous but not a requirement: completed a technical course (N2/ N3/ N4/ N5/ N6)
  • Advantageous but not a requirement: experience in a food and beverage packaging line
  • Self motivated
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to interact well with teammates
  • Able to work effectively within a team

Polokwane location:

  • Completed Matric
  • Passed Mathematics, English and Science in Matric
  • Advantageous but not a requirement: completed a technical course (N2/ N3/ N4/ N5/ N6)
  • Advantageous but not a requirement: experience in a food and beverage packaging line
  • Self motivated
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to interact well with teammates

Alrode location:

  • Completed Matric
  • Passed Mathematics, English and Science in Matric
