About the Mick Leary Educational Trust: Epilepsy South Africa, formerly known as “South African National Epilepsy League (SANEL)” is the only NPO within South Africa that assists people with epilepsy and other disabilities, by helping them gain the skills and knowledge to work in the labour market. Because of the prejudice towards people with epilepsy within the workforce, they often find it extremely challenging to find employment. As a result, Epilepsy South Africa created the Mick Leary Educational Trust. Professor Mick Leary was a former Epilepsy South Africa Chairperson, epilepsy expert and Paediatric Neurologist. The aim of the Trust is to help give people with epilepsy a chance to further their studies and gain the skills they need to enter the labour market.
