Globeleq South Africa, operating in the country since 2012, is a Globeleq subsidiary company. Field of Study
1) Globeleq Engineering Scholarship: for Mechatronic Engineering and Electrical Engineering studies (BTech or National Diploma) at University of Johannesburg/ Walter Sisulu University/ Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University/ Vaal University of Technology/ Cape Peninsula University of Technology/ Durban University of Technology/ Mangosuthu University of Technology/ Central University of Technology/ Tshwane University of Technology.
2) Globeleq Scarce Skills Scholarship: for students residing within the Northern Cape or Eastern Cape and intend on studying Agriculture/ Education/ Nursing qualification (Degree or Certificate).
3) Globeleq Communities Scholarship: for students residing within a 50km radius in which Globeleq operates, including Aries Solar Power/ Boshof Solar Power/ De Aar Solar Power/ Droogfontein Solar Power/ Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm/ Klipheuwel Wind Farm/ Konkoonsies Solar Power/ Soutpan Solar Power, to study towards a Degree or Certificate qualification, in ANY field of study.
Globeleq Scholarship Application Requirements
1) Globeleq Engineering Scholarship:
- South African citizen
- Studying towards a Mechatronic Engineering or Electrical Engineering qualification (BTech or National Diploma)
- Studying at one of the following institutes: University of Johannesburg/ Walter Sisulu University/ Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University/ Vaal University of Technology/ Cape Peninsula University of Technology/ Durban University of Technology/ Mangosuthu University of Technology/ Central University of Technology/ Tshwane University of Technology
- Entering 2nd year of study or higher in 2025 (excluding bridging courses or extended programmes)
- Interested in renewable energy
2) Globeleq Scarce Skills Scholarship:
- South African citizen
- Reside within the Northern Cape or Eastern Cape
- Registered to study towards an Agriculture/ Education/ Nursing qualification (Degree or Certificate)
- Registered to study at a recognised tertiary institute in South Africa
- Entering 1st year or higher in 2025
3) Globeleq Communities Scholarship:
- South African citizen

- Entering 1st year or higher in 2025
Globeleq Scholarship Application Procedures
- ID document (certified copy)
- Grade 11 final results AND Matric latest results, if currently in Matric (certified copy)
- Matric certificate, if completed Matric (certified copy)
- Latest academic transcript, if currently studying (certified copy)
- Proof of provisional acceptance, if applicable (on tertiary letterhead)
- Proof of university registration, if currently studying (on tertiary letterhead)
- Curriculum Vitae
- A statement explaining why you chose your particular field of study and how you plan to use your qualification after graduation (1 page)
- Recommendation letter from someone who can attest to your personal character and/or your academic performance, with their contact details, NOT a family member or friend (1 page)
- Parents/ guardians proof of income (latest payslips if employed/ affidavit if unemployed)
