ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME

Coca-Cola have 2 types of learnership programmes to offer:
1) The Packaging Learnership: There will be 30 learnerships awarded within the Packaging Department in Lakeside, Port Elizabeth. Student who are local to the area can apply to enter the 1 year fixed term contract with CCBSA Lakeside Manufacturing. Students will take part in practical and theoretical learning, and thereafter receive a National Certificate in Food and Beverage Packaging (NQF level 3).
Shortlisted candidates will be required to pass a Literacy and Numeracy test, a medical clearance check and a security clearance check.

2) The Unemployed Packaging Learnership: There will be 60 learnerships awarded within the Packaging Department in Pretoria. Student who are local to the area can apply to enter the fixed term contract with CCBSA Midrand Manufacturing. Students will take part in practical and theoretical learning, and thereafter receive a National Certificate in Food and Beverage Packaging (NQF level 3).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
Packaging Learners:

    • South African citizen
    • Local to Lakeside, Port Elizabeth
    • Completed Matric
    • Achieved a minimum result of 40% (E symbol) for Mathematics (NOT Mathematical literacy)
    • Achieved a minimum result of 40% (E symbol) for Physical Science (NOT Life Science)
    • Completed a National Certificate: Food and Beverage Packaging Operations (“N” courses)
    • Advantageous but not essential: previous packaging experience
    • Able to climb onto machines and work at heights

Also have the following personal attributes:

  • Self motivated
  • Willing to work hard
  • Have basic problem solving ability
  • Can pay attention to detail
  • Able to take instructions
  • Able to work well within a team

Unemployed Packaging Learners:

    • South African citizen
    • Completed Matric
    • Passed Mathematic and Science in Matric
    • Have an N3 certificate in Engineering (with Mathematics and Science) OR currently studying towards a relevant Degree/ Diploma qualification

Also have the following personal attributes:

  • Self motivated
  • Can pay attention to detail
  • Able to work well within a team
