About the Anglo American Platinum: Anglo American Platinum Limited, founded in 1995, is the biggest primary producer of platinum across the globe, producing almost 40% of the supply each year. The South African based company operates mainly in Johannesburg, with most of its operations occurring within the Bushveld Igneous Complex where a range of mineral commodities is found. The company produces 3 ranges of products, namely precious metals (ie. gold), base metals (ie. chrome; copper; cobalt sulphate; sodium sulphate and nickel), and Platinum Group Metals (ie. platinum; rhodium; palladium; ruthenium; iridium and osmium).

Anglo American Platinum Bursary Application Requirements 2025/2026

South African citizen
Pass the medical fitness examinations
Platinum Scholarship: currently in Matric or have completed Matric, ANY field of study, pass all subjects currently registered (if currently at tertiary level), be within a from 50km radius from our operations
Engineering students: must complete Matric in 2020 with a minimum result of 60% for English, Mathematics and Physical Science
Chemistry students: must complete the 3rd year of study in 2020 in an Applied or Analytical Chemistry degree, must pass all modules and be entering the 4th year of study in 2021
Metallurgy students: must complete the 3rd year of study in 2020 in a Metallurgy/ Chemical Engineering degree and must pass all modules
Mining students: must complete the 3rd year of study in 2020 in a Mining Engineering degree, must pass all modules and be entering the 4th year of study in 2021

Platinum Scholarship students: Proof of residence from Chief within 50km radius from Anglo American Platinum operations (stamped document)
Engineering students: Grade 11 final results AND Matric latest results (certified copies)
Chemistry, Geology, Metallurgy, Mining and Rock Engineering students: Matric certificate (certified copy)
Chemistry, Geology, Metallurgy, Mining and Rock Engineering students: Latest tertiary academic record AND 2019 year results (certified copy)
