AIB Cape Insurance is categorized into three. These are;

Personal Insurance

AIB Cape is here to help you insure your personal assets, from the contents of your house to your private dwelling and motor cars. Competitive pricing and unique personal insurance solutions are included as standard with all our offerings.

  1. Buildings: Cover for the building, including fixtures and fitting and other structures named in the policy. The main events covered are Fire and Storm
  2. House Contents: Cover for all your personal belongs inside a building. The main events covered are Fire, Storm and Theft
  3. All Risks: Cover designed for personal property that is portable, like cellphones, bicycles, cameras etc.
  4. Motor: Cover for your motor vehicles. The three types of cover available are Comprehensive, Balance of Third Party, Fire & Theft and Third Party only.
  5. Pleasure Craft: Cover for your personal water craft, including the option to cover associated and insurable liability risks
  6. Personal Liability: Cover for your personal legal liability to third parties, should you negligently damage their property or cause them injury.
  7. Extended Personal Liability: Cover that increases or “tops up” the sum insured of your Personal Liability section.
  8. Travel: Cover for when you travel. Some cover examples include insurance for Emergency Medical Expenses, Lost baggage and Personal Liability.
  9. Personal Accident: Cover to named persons for death or injury due to an accident.
Business Insurance

  2. Consequential Loss: Cover for reduction of Turnover or Revenue following an insured Material Damage loss, can be facilitated under Business Interruption and Loss of Profit following Machinery Breakdown.
  3. Crime: Cover for events arising from crime only, can be facilitated under Theft, Money and Employee Theft (Fidelity Guarantee).
  4. Transit: Cover for property transported within South Africa can be facilitated under Goods in Transit.
  5. Liabilities: Cover for insurable legal liabilities to third parties, caused through your negligence, can be facilitated under Public Liability and Employers Liability.
  6. Accidents to Persons or Property: Accident cover is available for accidental damage to property and for accident to named persons or positions.
  7. SASRIA: Cover is available through the South African Special Risks Insurance Association(SASRIA) for events arising from civil commotion, public disorder, riots & strikes.
Specialist Insurance

Specialist insurance relates to risks not typically catered for in standard packaged commercial products. Examples include Marine, Construction, Engineering, Specialized Liability and Cyber Insurance. AIB Cape team is ready to help you select the best Specialist Insurance cover for your business.

  1. Construction: Cover for building and construction contracts, including civil contracts. Cover typically includes insurance for the Works and the associated liability risks, arising from the insured Contract.
  2. Engineering: Cover for the machinery breakdown risk, including reduction in Turnover following machinery breakdown. Plant insurance for cranes, forklifts etc. is also catered for under this heading. Cover can include loss or damage to the insured Plant, including hiring charges or loss of use cover.
