About the South African National Seed Organization: The first seed industry grouping was formed in 1940 by the South African Seedmen’s Association, and over the last 100 years, the South African Seed Industry has evolved from being a dominant contributor to seed production into a greatly competitive dynamic industry. The South African National Seed Organization (SANSOR) was established in 1989, with the aim of providing the local seed industry with a formal and strategic body to protect and further the interests of the seed trade.

South African National Seed Organization Bursary Application Requirements 2025/2026

South African-born citizen
Completed an undergraduate degree or will complete an undergraduate degree by the end of 2020
Registered to study towards an Honours/ MSc/ PhD degree in 2025
Registered to study at a recognised tertiary institution in 2025
The study subject must support SANSOR’s vision and mission, as well as be advantageous to the seed industry
NOT receiving any other government funding (candidates must inform SANSOR of all other government funding received)
